The New York State
Educational Media/Technology Association
2020 Corporate Partner Showcase and Spring Conference

Due to the rapidly changing status of responses to COVID-19 and out of an abundance of caution and respect for organizational and individual safety concerns, the EMTA Executive Board has cancelled the EMTA Conference taking place next week (March 18-20, 2020) in Syracuse, NY.

***Please note: you must cancel any hotel reservations yourself, directly! Because each individual made their own hotel reservation, it is each individual’s responsibility to cancel their room reservation at the Embassy Suites before 11:59 p.m. on March 16, 2020 to avoid personal penalty.

We’re trying to be released from our contract with the hotel, but unsure if that will be possible. Given the lateness of this decision, and the terms of our contract, we’re unable to issue a credit or refund at this time.  However, we’re still in conversations with the hotel, and if a credit or refund becomes possible, we will let you know.

We won’t be rescheduling in the current school year, due to the general uncertainty surrounding our circumstances. We do hope to revisit the same conference – participants,  presenters, and Grimaldi’s lasagna – next year. We will share more information when appropriate, including with the vendors who had registered for this year’s event.

Looking forward: our next EMTA General Membership meeting is scheduled for June. We will offer the option to attend virtually, or we may host it fully in that format, depending upon how things progress.

Thanks for your patience during this challenging time. And stay safe!
